Highlights - Debate in TRAN Committee on Road Safety Package - Committee on Transport and Tourism

The Committee on Transport and Tourism will discuss the Road Safety Package for a second time on 27 June. Members will examine the draft report of Mr Zlotowski on the Cross-Border Exchange proposal and hold a general discussion on the other two proposals from the package – Driving Licence Directive and the Driving Disqualification Directive. The package is key in achieving the EU’s Vision Zero of having no deaths on EU roads by 2050.

The debate will take place on Tuesday morning 27 June 2023 in room ANTALL 6Q2, from where it will be webstreamed.

The TRAN Committee held a debate with European Coordinators for the TEN-T, Mr Carlo Secchi (Atlantic Corridor) and Ms Iveta Radičová (Mediterranean Corridor). The European Coordinators for the Atlantic Corridor and for the Mediterranean Corridor informed TRAN Members about the latest developments in these corridors of the trans-European transport network (TEN-T). The debate took place on Wednesday afternoon 24 May 2023 in room ANTALL 4Q1 from where it was webstreamed.

“Future challenges for the rail infrastructure: Single European Track Access charges and investments needed towards decarbonisation”

The TRAN Committee will hold a public hearing on the "Future challenges for the rail infrastructure: Single European Track Access charges and investments needed towards decarbonisation" which will examine both the future of track access charges, building on the lessons learnt from the ad-hoc measures taken during the pandemics, and the rail infrastructure investments needed for the sector to contribute to decarbonisation.

The hearing will take place on Monday 24 April 2023 - 15.00-17.00, in room SPAAK 03C050 from where it will be webstreamed.
